Early Spring Strawberry Transplants
We finished the strawberry box this past weekend and filled it with a mixture of native soil, then raised bed mix, and Mel's mix on top. Strawberries were purchased a week or two ago (T-6 wks) and were waiting on the patio to be planted. I trimmed some of the deformed strawberries. The Everest strawberry already had a medium/large sized strawberry formed.( 4 weeks until April 15th.)
Update March 26th, 2018. All of the strawberries have been planted.
Update March 31st, 2018. Yesterday I used 12 gallons of water with 8 T of Miracid. Today I placed 1 tsp of Bat Guano around each plant and worked it into the top soil. Many of the strawberries have flowers.
Update April 10th, 2018. Applied 2 scoops of berry fertilizer per plant after placing strawberry supports. Pinched all flowers to encourage leaf/root growth.
